Club Statement from Club Executive on Covid19

Hi all,
I hope this message finds you all safe and well.
Cricket Leinster along with Cricket Ireland has put in place a roadmap for
the return to cricket. In phase 2 June 8th practice will start and in phase 4 July 20th game will start.
All this depends on all the phases moving forward as predicted.
This will cover practice and games for all, youths, men and women.
All clubs will have to do a risk assessment on the spread of the virus in
their club and put in place a return to practice and play document with the help of Cricket Leinster.
The club will have to set up a Covid committee with Covid officers to
take charge of all practice and games.
This will include a timesheet for all practice sessions with only 2 people
allowed to practice together unless they are family, there can be a number
of groups practicing at the same time as long as they keep to the
guidelines.
A Covid officer will attend practice and make sure the timesheet is
followed and all the return to practice protocols are followed.
After every practice, all equipment will need to be sanitized ready for the
next group.
This is just an outline of what is to come for the club.
Some clubs may find this hard to achieve, others may only be able to
cope with small numbers, we as a club will be doing all we can to make
this work.
Going forward we will try to keep you updated on all matters cricket.
My email address is mattdwyer49@gmail.com if you want to contact me.
From The Hills Cricket Club, Thank you for all your support.
Matt Dwyer, Chairperson.

Name + nickname: Tracy Clinton
T, TT or Mary

Age: 37

Favorite batting shot: cover Drive

Bowling type: Slow……dibleys!

Debut for senior team: Cant remember it was that long ago😂 but I was probably about 12 and more than likely against Ymca

Best memory in hills colours: Getting to our very first Senior cup Final and I was captain

Worst memory in hills colours:
Years and years ago, Barbara Clinton and myself trying to get players out to play matches, alot of matches we played with 8 but we continued on. On the upside some years later we had 3 teams out for the club

Favorite player you’ve played with: I have two…..Miranda Andrew’s, the craic we have on that pitch and Ciara Metcalfe…..unbelievable knowledge of the game and is a bit of craic too

Player you wish you got to play with: Younger years it would have been Miriam Grealy, later years it would have been Clare”shillers” Shillington even though I played representative cricket with her

Favorite ground you’ve played in apart from the hills: Any ground I score a few runs!😉

Funniest thing you’ve seen on the pitch: Oohhh theres a few but it would probably be, Amanda Byrne, we were playing out in Leinster, the ball was hit out to the boundary, Amanda did a dive to stop the ball, ball continued to roll down the line but instead of her jumping back up to get it….she crawled, very fast, on all fours after it😂 Can still picture it!

Player Profiles: Senior Men’s VC Cormac McLoughlin-Gavin

Today’s player profile is the one and only Cormac McLoughlin-Gavin and is sponsored by Olive Skerries, thank you for your continued support ☕️

Name + nickname: Cormac McLoughlin-Gavin (Cormo/Beef/LeBoeuf)

Age: 26 years old

Favourite batting shot: Pull shot

Bowling type: Right Arm Off-Spin. Still trying to turn one!

Debut for the senior team: Terenure Away in July 2012

Best memory in hills colours: Winning our 2nd All-Ireland Cup in 2014. The last ball run-out in the 2013 T20 final is a very close 2nd though!

Worst memory in hills colours: Losing the All-Ireland in 2017 to Waringstown. Still hurts!

Favorite player you’ve played with: Naseer Shoukat.

Player you wish you got to play with: I joined The Hills just after Bryn Thomas was with us and have been told by many club members that he would have been great for me!

Favorite ground you’ve played in apart from the hills: Eastcote Cricket Club, London

Funniest thing you’ve seen on the pitch: I once captained a school’s game for Gormanston where I had to teach a group of 10 classmates the rules of cricket so we could field a team.

My friend Conor (a keen golfer) went out to bat for the very first time and set up outside his crease. The opposition wicketkeeper suggested that it might be an idea to stand behind the white line. Naturally, Conor didn’t need any help. First ball he executes a beautiful full golf swing, misses it completely, holds the pose for the cameras, and is out stumped without troubling the scorers.

Unsurprisingly we lost the game.

Goals for future: Win plenty more trophies with The Hills and play for Ireland at senior level.
