We’re all about The Finals this coming Friday at THCC! in what is sure to be a very busy day for the Club. The Ladies Seconds travel to Observatory Road to face Leinster in the Minor Cup Final at 6.00 THCC over heard some of the women discussing the pre match tunes needed for the coach on the way out….. Well I know we would all like to hear “We Are The Champions” on the journey back!!!….If any of the travelling support could bring a camera and take a few snaps and send them into us that would be much appreciated.
The Boys under 11’s face Malahide at The MCG at 6.00pm in the Cup Final. Here’s hoping for a celebratory ice cream cone or two in Storm!
And Finally……. The Vineyard will play host to the final of “The Alan Murray Cup” between Merrion and Leisnter. Game starts at 5.00pm.
Whats that we hear you say about buses??? ……Needless to say we need as much support and help as possible for these three games. So All Volunteers Welcome!!
Wherever you decide to watch your Cricket this Friday we hope you enjoy it and hopefully The Ladies and the Boys will be able to come back to The Vineyard for a victory lap. Bar will be open.
C’MON THE HILLS!!!!

A Message to all our members. Our training nets are due to be replaced this week and therefore all nets practice for Wednesday and Thursday has been cancelled so this work can be completed. We would ask any members who are available to come down to the club on Thursday evening and give a hand with installing the new nets.

The Skerries 100 celebrates its 70th anniversary this year and we would love it if you could help us make it a bit special. The motor bikes Weekend is less than two weeks away. The crowds now start to come on the Thursday 1st of July continuing right through to raceday on the Saturday 3rd July. And with good weather forecast crowds will be BIG! We have some great live music and entertainment booked to play on the Friday night. We will need help from all our sections of the club to make this weekend work. On Tuesday the 21st June @ 8pm in the clubhouse we would ask as many club members as possible to attend a quick meeting to help plan these days. Don’t worry if you can’t attend but would like to help out, you can contact us through the website or leave your name on our facebook page and we will be in touch. All members are expected to help out over these days so better put your name down for something you like now rather than be allocated something you don’t later. All members of sections including Kids, Their Parents , Adult Ladies and Men’s will be asked to help over the next week. These are great fun days and also our main fund raiser for the year. Please make yourself available for some time over this weekend. In the meantime to get you in the mood for what should be a great weekend take a look at some old archive footage below from 1935 of The Leinster 200 (a forerunner of sorts for The Skerries 100). I wonder how any of our current members where around to witness this 🙂

A group of French children aged 14 -16 years of age will be visiting from Skerries twin town of Guichen in France from 7th-12th July. There are 16 of them in total and the theme of this trip is sport and they are hoping to get involved in as many sports as possible for the duration of their stay. The Hills will be organising an introductory game of cricket for them on Friday morning 8th July.
If any members of the club are in a position to host a child for the duration of the visit please contact Aisling Smith on 087 – 8547125. All activities will be organised for the duration of their stay and host family children can participate. They will have sports activities over the weekend, barbecue and a full day coach excursion to a theme park on 11 July. Might suit a family with a child learning French or interested in France and its a great opportunity to get to make some contacts with our twin town.
Merci Beaucoup!

Enjoy the cycling to those of you that are going but dont forget to come back and watch some of the cricket too. Please find links below regarding information and road restrictions.
Well the answer is she will be cuttin very well! We have had some great new arrivals so far this season and the ground staff are delighted with the newest ones. Grant money coming through and these little beauties have just arrived. The Dennis combo mower with brush, Slicer and scarifier attachments. 4 machines in one. So those great wickets of ours are about to get even better! THCC

With the season now in full swing we have another exciting weekend of cricket upon us at The Hills. The Men’s First Team play CSNI in the Irish Senior Cup on Saturday while the seconds play Greystones on Sunday. The aul current bun has finally made an appearance and Nuala Carey tells me she is to stay around for the weekend with highs of 21 degrees. So no excuses not to get down The Vineyard on Saturday or Sunday, “Its gonna be tropic”. So remember the sunscreen! Good luck to all our teams in action home and away this weekend.
Well Done to our Ladies First team who got their campaign up and running with a fine win on the road v North Kildare on Thursday evening. The Hills CC made 172 in their 30 overs and bowled North Kildare out for 120 runs! Great effort to Ciara and her very supportive squad of players.
Special mention to to Milverton National School who got off to winning ways Thursday morning against local rivals from Skerries Realt Na Mara in a very exciting game at the Vineyard this morning, Well done Guys!
