Senior Player Profile: Luke Clinton

Up next we’ve got record holder and Fingal cricketing legend Luke Clinton. Today’s player profile is sponsored by Tierney Kitchens. Thank you for your continued support!

Name + nickname:Luke Clinton .clints.flick

Age:39

Favorite batting shot: back foot punch

Bowling type: seam medium

Debut for senior team: 1997

Best memory in hills colours: getting 7 wickets v north county last year & having my 2 boys there watching, it was special

Worst memory in hills colours: getting relegated a day after winning the All Ireland

Favorite player you’ve played with: Johnny Archer. I see a lot of his traits the same as my own. The desire to win passion for the game I learned a lot playing with a great second team when I was younger.

Player you wish you got to play with: Andre Botha a top lad and a great all-rounder always delivered on the big occasion

Favorite ground you’ve played in apart from the hills: Clontarf, 2 All Ireland wins there, so good memories

Funniest thing you’ve seen on the pitch: Anytime I got to play with Mick Dwyer was pure gold. One time when Mick went out to keep the lads put Deep heat on his jockstrap he was jumping around the place with the itch magic.

Goals for future: Would really love to keep playing till my boys are playing adult cricket so I could play with them
