2017 Membership Fees

I appreciate that many of you have already paid your subscriptions but there are gaps in the lists of adult players where we’d prefer no gaps.  It’s not easy to keep a club like ours afloat, especially considering the low level of membership fees we charge, so it is imperative that everyone pulls their weight and pays the appropriate amount. The Membership Fees are as follows;

Adult Male player      €120.00
Adult Female Player  €80.00
Ordinary Member      €80.00
Student Member       €70.00  (including apprentices)
Youth Member          €70.00
Under 9 years           €50.00
Pavilion Member       €40.00

Our Club Constitution states that anyone who has not paid the appropriate fee by May 31st will not be eligible for selection, in other words No Pay, No Play! The Selection Committees have been reminded of this rule and WILL enforce it.

We also appeal to our friends and supporters to assist us in the running and upkeep of the Club by taking up Pavilion Membership. If anyone would like to do so please contact me at this email address or on 087 2277563.
Thank you!

Bobby Swarbrigg, Hon. Membership Secretary, The Hills Cricket Club.

Fantasy Cricket Comes To The Hills

Welcome to the THE HILLS CRICKET CLUB Fantasy League

The Fantasy Club Cricket premise is simple:

You pick a team of players from your club and they’ll score you points based on how well they perform throughout the season. You compete with other players from your club who have entered teams and see who comes out on top come the end of the season. The hardest part is deciding who gets in your team!

It is €20 to enter a team. All funds go to the Hills cricket club. Please pay cash to Matthew Richards or if you prefer to do an online transfer pay into the following account:

Account number: 16644880
Sort code: 990603

Please ensure you mark the payment reference as your name so Matthew can organise payment to the club and keep track of who has paid.

Log on to http://hills.fantasyclubcricket.co.uk/

Sign up, create your team and you have unlimited transfers until 12pm 29th April when the season starts. Please note this weekends fixtures will not be included.

You can find the rules below or on the website.

General

  • There can be only one team entered per registered user account.
  • Each team shall have a value of no more than £55m (for teams with 11 players) or £35m (for teams with 6 players).
  • Managers may enter a team at any point during the season although teams must be submitted before the season starts in order to score points for the first gameweek. Thereafter, entries will start scoring points from the gameweek after they were entered and points will not be backdated.

Transfers and Captain Changes

  • Managers may alter their teams at any point during the Season. A total of 1 free transfer is available each week and additional transfers are permitted, but will incur a cost of 20 points (value can be edited) per transfer. When a captain is transferred out of a team, the team will be without a captain and a new one should be selected.
  • Transfers and captain changes may be submitted at any time but will not take effect until midday the following Saturday, so they are active for the upcoming gameweek.
  • Transfers are free and unlimited up until midday on the date of the first match.
  • Should a players value increase at any point during the season, then teams who have selected that player shall recieve the difference as additional budget when making transfers.
  • Should a players value decrease, teams will lose that amount from their transfer budget (as long as the budget remains above the original limit).

Team Selection

  • The players included on the selection list and their values will be determined by the League Administrator.
  • Each team can select a captain who will earn double points each week. You may change your captain each week if you wish.
  • Every team must contain 4 x batters, 4 x bowlers, 2 x all rounders and 1 x wicket keeper (for teams with 11 players) or 2 x batters, 2 x bowlers, 1 x all rounders and 1 x wicket keeper (for teams with 6 players)

Points

  • All players are eligible to earn points of any type. Batters will get points for taking wickets and bowlers will get points for scoring runs.
  • You have total control over the points structure and any value can be edited. The below shows the default settings:

Batting

  • 1 point per run scored
  • 10 points for a not out
  • 20 bonus points for 50+
  • 40 bonus poins for 100+
  • -20 points for a duck

Bowling

  • 15 points per wicket
  • 30 bonus points for 5+ wickets

  • -20 poins for conceding 50+ runs (for 0 wickets)

Fielding

  • 10 points per catch
  • 20 points per run out
  • 15 poins per stumping

Good luck for the season all

Kind Regards

Matthew Richards

Welcome To The Hills Katie Gurrey

The Hill’s CC are proud to announce that we have recently signed Katie Gurrey from Wellington, New Zealand, to play for the 2017/ 2018 season. Katie is a Right Hand Bat and a Right Arm Medium Bowler who plays for Northern Districts (Women) Spirit and Auckland University CC Women Premiers (2011- 2017).

As a player Katie is a powerful opening batter this has seen her selected in various representative sides and also winning many awards. The two biggest highlights included being named the MVP of the National Women’s U21 Tournament and making her debut for National Women’s Provincial side ‘Northern Districts Spirit’ at age 19. For the 2016/ 2017 season, Katie had the most runs in the Auckland Women’s Competition (641 runs, S/R 122.73, 7 innings). For the summer of 2016, Katie played and coached in Hayes (Kent) Cricket Club where she scored 871 runs in her 25 innings. In her time here, Katie will also play in the Super 3’s tournaments, along with her Hill’s Team mates Ciara Metcalfe, Aisling Byrne, Katie Boylan, Laura Boylan and Tasha Morton.

With the signing of Ciara Metcalfe in 2016 and the addition of Katie to the squad for 2017, both the Ladies senior and underage teams in The Hill’s are going from strength to strength. Keen to build on her first season with The Hill’s, Ciara has been working hard over the winter months to sign a player who will fit into the overall plan for Ladies cricket in the Hill’s and who will help us to build on the great strides already made. With the introduction of a new structure to Division 1, where the Ladies will play half of their matches as T20 and the other half as 50 overs, the vast experience of both Katie and Ciara in both formats (but especially the 50 overs!) will prove invaluable.

This year, we hope to field 3 teams, so if anyone is interested in helping out with any aspect of Ladies/ underage cricket, please feel free to contact Carrie on 085 1006789 and we will find you a job in no time! 1st game of the season will be Division 1 home to Pembroke in the 50 over on Sunday 30th April and all support is welcomed! #THCC
