Welcome To The Hills Greg Lamb

We are delighted to announce that we have secured the services of Greg Lamb for the 2019 season.

Greg is a British Passport holding Zimbabwean cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman who can bowl both off spin and right arm medium pace.

He was Zimbabwe’s Young Player of the Year and represented his country at Under-12, Under-15 and Under-19 levels. He played in the C&G Trophy final for Hampshire against Warwickshire in 2005 and was a valuable member of the squad which finished runners-up in the Frizzell County Championship in 2005 playing alongside the likes of Simon Kaitch, Sean Irvine , Kevin Pieterson and others.

Lamb has since returned to Zimbabwe to play for the Mashonaland Eagles. Lamb has had prolific seasons with the Eagles which led to him representing Zimbabwe in Test, ODI and T20 International Cricket.

As a Club we have listened to our members and have brought Greg in, not only for his proven ability on the pitch but also to utilise his experience gained at the highest level to reinvigorate our weekly Training where he will provide coaching and one to ones with players who have missed out on this kind of attention. In combination with others who will adopt a mentoring role at training and matches , we really feel that 2019 will be the year that we really build on the great work of previous coaches such as John Wills and others ,( some of home will also be reappearing at times to really develop all of our players.)and prepare our Club for the journey ahead. #THCC

Sponsorship Opportunites

Dear members and friends of The Hill CC,

As you are probably aware, the coming marks the 50th anniversary of our great Club and to mark the occasion we will be hosting an large number of events to showcase our Club and grounds.

This year we are seeking a number of new sponsors to help us cover our costs (not playing costs) and we are actively looking for businesses and individuals to lend their support to our Club.

Opportunities start from as little as €20.00 for match balls, rising to match day sponsorship, fixtures and fittings, advertising hoardings, shirt logos, and, if we’re really lucky, a total club sponsorship deal.

The options are endless but, now more than ever, with the reach of our social media platforms and our new online match-day live streaming, we will get sponsors messages out to thousands of people in the area and further afield.

If you can help, or if you know of any companies or individuals who might be interested, please leave a pledge or a message with either of the following and we will do all the follow up work regarding exact details of packages;

rogkear@gmail.com

anntmurphy@eircom.net

If you would prefer to talk to any other committee member then please do so and rest assured that your input will be followed up.

Many thanks for your continued support

Kind regards

Roger Kear

Hon. Secretary, The Hills Cricket Club

Spring Clean Up

Lady Vineyard is hoping all her members and friends had a restful winter and are ready to help her become even more beautiful than she normally is on this her 50th birthday party year.

We would ask members and friends to make their services available on a Saturday morning or two starting Saturday the 16th February.
A list of projects and relevant organizers will go out over the coming days to allow members and friend to pick groups and projects they would like to do.
No major skills are required as many hands make light work
This is an effort to return to former days in the club where the Tea bell ringer was the only person we listened to.
Please make yourself available for these morning if only for a few hours.
You will feel better for doing this and in turn, the club, your club will come a better place. #THCC

More updates to follow.
