President’s Dinner
Our President’s Dinner will take place in the clubhouse on Friday 4th November, please arrive at 7.30 pm sharp for an 8.00 pm start. Take up for this event has been high but there are still a few places left. So if you are interested in attending please contact Bobby Swarbrigg [087 227 7563] as soon as you can. We would be delighted to meet you there. Tickets are €40 per head.

New Executive Committee
The following persons were elected to the club’s Executive Committee, at the club’s AGM on Monday 17th October 2016, to serve for the next twelve months.
Mary Boylan, Mark Clinton, Shea Clinton, Willie Dwyer, Ciara Metcalfe, Matt Richards, Martin Russell, Paul Smyth, Max Sorensen, and Bill Stuart.
Also, many thanks to all those who attended and participated at this meeting. Your contributions were both welcome and important.

A screening morning for all The Hills Cricket Club players (Boys/Girls/Men/Women) from 10 years of age up will take place on Saturday 15th October. This is totally voluntary and will be the first step to start building a player library for the future and fine tuning player development.
The morning will consist of a physical screening of the following attributes:Weight, Height, Speed, Explosive Power and establishing a baseline fitness marker.
It will also measure basic skill sets:
Fielding – Throwing, Catching
Bowling – Repeatable Action, Consistency
Batting – Basic Technique, Range Hitting
Max Sorensen will be leading the physical screening and Albert van der Merwe will lead the skill Sets
Could all Team managers and/or coaches please inform their teams. We would appreciate it if anyone interested in taking part could let us know by Thursday 13th Oct. You can contact us through our website or Message us on our facebook page.

The President’s Dinner
Your club is instigating ‘The President’s Dinner’ and this year’s event is planned for Friday 4th November – in the clubhouse 7.30 p.m. for 8.00p.m Start.
There will be a guest speaker and three course dinner, with wine, and will cost €40 per head. Places are limited to 80. [Ten tables of eight] and dress will be semi- formal.
Bookings, together with payments, will be made on a ‘first come first served’ basis – so, if you are interested in attending contact any member of the executive as soon as possible.

Patrons Membership Scheme.
Your Club is launching a PATRONS MEMBERSHIP SCHEME which will take effect from 1st January 2017.
A single payment of €500, or a series of instalment payments totalling €500, received before the end of 2016, will entitle the member to the following credits throughout 2017:-
One full annual membership.
€100 worth of Race Night Horses.
Sponsoring one hole at the Golf Outing.
€100 worth of annual draw tickets.
An invitation from the President to enjoy a tea/lunch at all first team home fixtures.

The Hills Cricket Club: Notice re 2016 AGM
All members are hereby advised that the date for our 2016 Annual General Meeting has been set for Monday 17th October 2016 – in the clubhouse commencing at 8.00 p.m.
Nominations, from members, are invited for all Executive Committee positions. If you wish to make a nomination please advise me of that person’s name, together with that of the seconder, preferably before 15th October 2016. However nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the AGM.
Structure of the Executive Committee:-
President; President Elect; Chair of the Executive Committee; Hon. Secretary; Hon. Treasurer; and the Chairs of Adult Cricket, Grounds, House, and Youth Cricket.

Leinster Cricket Union Annual Awards
The above event is scheduled for Friday 11th November at Old Belvedere Rugby Club [Anglesea Road].
The cost will be €50 per head and the event will commence at 7.30 p.m. for 8.00 p.m. Dress code is semi- formal [suit/blazer/tie].
Our Men’s third team and Ladies second team have both won their leagues and will receive their trophies at this event. So – if anyone is interested in attending please give your name and payment to either Barbara Clinton, Thomas Murphy or Bill Stuart on or before Sunday 2nd October.

We would just like to take this opportunity to thank all our Youth members for the wonderful summer of cricket we had, so with our season for our Boys and Girls now at a close!
We would like to invite all our Underage members to The Hills Cricket Club this Friday 16th of September for our end of season party which will include some presentations but most importantly a lot of goodies,BBQ etc.plus maybe even some of the parents having a bash themselves at the game of cricket!
It is a celebration evening at the club for our younger members and one last chance this year to come together as friends before putting away our cricket gear for the winter……..
We would appreciate if you could turn up for 6.30 sharp so we can get the proceedings up and running!
