Cian Rooney Fitzgerald – RIP

The committee and members of The Hills Cricket Club extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the family and friends of Cian Rooney Fitzgerald who passed away on Friday. We were delighted to learn that Cian had spent some enjoyable time with his friends at The Vineyard recently.

A celebration of his life was held on the South Strand earlier today.

Sponsors this weekend

Willie Dwyer is sponsoring the Match Ball for our opening round of the National Cup on Saturday. That game is against Midleton in Cork.

We also have a Match Ball sponsor for our Second X1 game at the Vineyard tomorrow. John and Kay Scally are the sponsors in this Tillain Cup game against Railway Union.

Catering North Dublin are our sponsors for the Second X1 match in the Vineyard on Sunday. We face Phoenix in the Senior 2 Cup. In addition to the sponsorship they will also provide a BBQ for players and supporters after the game.

Many thanks to Willie and Conor Mc Gloughlin for the support.

Match Day Sponsorship

Over the last few years your generosity in the sponsorship of our senior women’s and men’s first team home matches has become increasingly important to the Club’s financial position.

While we’re all feeling a bit of a pinch caused by wars and rumours of wars, The Hills relies on its members and friends to keep the ship afloat. Our players, apart from looking after their annual subscriptions, need to equip themselves with expensive protective apparel and costly playing gear so the Club has decided not to increase its membership fees for 2026.

With all this in mind, we are offering sponsorship opportunities to our friends, supporters and non-playing members. Match-Day sponsorship is open to both commercial and personal supporters, so that corporate or any other commercial organisation can avail of relatively inexpensive advertising to a wide audience through the Club’s website and social media platforms; in addition to this publicity, you will be offered entertainment for a table of ten guests at the Match-Day “legendary” Hills Cricket Tea, which will include two bottles of wine.

Below you will find a list of the Women’s and Men’s First XI home fixtures, if you would like to be associated with any particular match, please reply to milvertonmail@gmail.com letting us know which Match or Match-Day you can sponsor.
